Face53 part 2.
Last night I was writing the second part of a blog about the skin regime I had started at 53 with a list of products.
Reading it through before posting, I had the following thoughts:-
1) There were not enough hours in the day for you to want to read a detailed list of skincare products I was using five years ago.
2) It was boring.
This is my blog, I can bore you if I wish, and although I cannot guarantee that each article I write will be meaningful, elegant and witty, the idea is you enjoy it and come back for more.
So, that said, here is part 2.
It is not just what you put on your face, you have to look at the whole picture. The old cliché “you are what you eat” is true, if you are not putting the right things in, it shows. If you are unhappy, stressed out, not getting enough exercise or sleep, when you look in the mirror you will see the results, the difference is, as we age, the damage is not so easy to repair.
What I discovered when I introduced my enhanced skincare routine, was that by using products and makeup appropriate for the age of my skin and discarding those that were doing nothing for me, I could maintain the ageing process and look good for my years. By adjusting my lifestyle, improving my diet, sleeping patterns, (still a night owl) even something as simple as drinking more water, the whole picture looked and felt better.
We all feel a different age to the one that stares back from the mirror. For years I was nineteen in my head and although I do many of the activities I have always done, I no longer take my health and looks for granted, I take better care of myself. As a result I enjoy my life more.
Anybody stuck for something to read can email me for the original list 😉
